Gale is a hand-lettering artist who loves penmanship, stitching, and painting - and has been doodling all her life - even when she is supposed to be paying attention. Actually, it helps her pay attention (her teachers didn't believe that and it drives her husband crazy but it's true!) She's a mom to four funny, brilliant grown kids and has one amazing, super-smart granddaughter - and she's really, really proud of all of them. Her husband is an accountant by day and moonlights as her carpenter and painter.
She sells her hand-lettered goodness at Hallmark stores and stockists all over the USA, and does art shows, markets and teaches classes across the Midwest. She also teaches virtual classes from her home studio, as well as in-person workshops in the Kansas City area. Her love of embroidery and stitching is big - and she's added classes featuring her lettering in stitched designs, too. Color is fun and she embraces it wholeheartedly. A new line of embroidery patterns featuring her lettering will be available in the spring of 2024.
All her work is lettered by hand - no vinyl, stencils or machines. And yes, it's ALL her own handwriting. Don't feel bad - she self-admittedly hates to cook, clean, or do math, so amazing penmanship is pretty much her stock in trade. She does, however, make a mean margarita and is an expert at making salsa. Because let's be honest - a girl has to be able to "cook" something!
In her "spare" time, she rearranges the furniture in her house, loves to stitch and embroider, is a voracious reader, plays the piano and consumes way too much caffeine. She believes that words matter, love does, and life is better when you're laughing. She's happiest when sharing her talents with the world and hopes that each of the GaleNation products you purchase bring you joy and helps you mark the sweetest memories ever.
