I'm so excited to welcome all of you to Kansas City for a joyful celebration of stitching and crafty camaraderie - at one of his “Well-Crafted Workshop Weekends” - led by artist and educator Robert Mahar! It’s his first trip to KC, so pack your stitch bag and get ready to give him a big Midwest welcome!
We’ll gather and explore new ideas in needlework, indulge in delicious food, laugh a lot and make fun new friends to add to your creative community!
(If you don’t travel everywhere to craft with a girl gang, you’ll probably have one before you leave!)
Included in the registration cost are all activities (Friday Welcome Event and three full workshops) along with Happy Hour sips and snacks and project supplies; Saturday lunch, breakfast bites on Saturday and Sunday morning, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, SWAG bags, and all supplies and kits. ***Registration does NOT include additional meals, travel, or lodging.

WHERE ARE WE STITCHING - AND WILL THERE BE DONUTS? :)
KC Maker Studio & Fabrics, 5331 Johnson Drive, Merriam, Kansas - and there will DEFINITELY be donuts! Lamar’s is KC famous and only a few blocks away!
The new private classroom space at KC Maker Studio features individual table spaces, comfy adjustable chairs, great lighting, and large screens so you can see Robert demonstrate his techniques. He's a hands-on instructor who will provide lots of individual help - even if you're brand new to stitching. You'll also meet lots of new friends who will be happy to help! (It’s also the happiest store with the most colorful fabrics and notions! KC Maker Studio | KANSAS CITY, MO)
WHAT TV SHOW DID ROBERT APPEAR ON? :)
Robert is a California-based artist and educator who teaches thoughtfully researched and developed hands-on projects and workshops. He’s particularly passionate about embroidery and ways he can apply stitched embellishments to vintage imagery. He’s also a proud contestant alumni, and subsequent associate producer, on NBC’s crafting competition show “Making It” with Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman. With an education in studio arts and art history, he has worked in a variety of creative fields (for more than 30 years!) including 13 years as an appraiser of modern and contemporary art. This is his first visit to Kansas City, and he is over the moon excited to connect with creatives in the “Heart of America”! Yep, he’s a pretty big deal!

Saturday, September 14th: 9:00-5:00pm: Morning Workshop: Embroidered US Wall Map; Catered Lunch and break; Afternoon Workshop: Embroidered Souvenir Postcards (a brand new class offering!)
Sunday, September 15th: 9:30-1:00pm: Breakfast bites; Sunday Workshop: Embroidering on the Photographic Image.
